The meeting of the Israeli Society for Evolutionary Biology (ISEB) was held two weeks ago in Ben Gurion Univeristy and was a great success. Eyal stepped into office as the new president of the society, and so gave the presidential address, talking about the challenges in recent years for our academic community to maintain its international relation. He especially emphasized the challenges related to hosting international students in Israel.
This week we participated in the ILANIT conference, the largest general biology meeting held every three years. Max presented a poster on genomics of social polymorphism in Cataglyphis niger and related species.
Eyal gave a talk in a satellite session on “AI in Biomedicine“, in which he analyzed the negative impacts of the recent AI hype.
